The Sounds of Luosto festival will be organized in the Lappish landscape on Luosto, Pyhä, and in Sodankylä. Concerts will be held in places like the natural amphitheater of Ukko-Luosto and the banks of the river Kitinen, as well as Sodankylä’s historic old church.

The theme of 2024 is Echoes of History. On offer is a highly varied program of orchestra, chamber, and performance of familiar classics, connections with folk music, contemporary music, and forgotten masterpieces, as well as the traditional saloon concert!

Transportation to concert venues will be provided by a bus that departs from Lapland Hotels Luostotunturi. Tickets for this bus can be purchased from the Festival Office, located inside the hotel.

In addition to individual tickets, patrons will have the possibility to buy different types of ticket packets. All tickets are sold on Ticketmaster. During the festival tickets can be bought also from Festival Office and at the door.

Summit series consists of the opening concert on Luosto and the concert on Pyhätunturi on 1.8, the main concert at Ukko-Luosto and evening concert on Luosto on 3.8 (a total of 4 concerts).

Sodankylä day (2.8) consists of the Sodankylä Old Church concert, Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory concert, and Porttikoski concert (a total of 3 concerts)

Luosto day (3.8) consists of the main concert at Ukko-Luosto and the evening concert on Luosto (a total of 2 concerts).

Jaakkola Reindeer Farm, Sodankylä
An opportunity to get to know a traditional reindeer farm! A chance to hear joiks and stories about the history of the farm and reindeer care.

Luoston Hovi, Luosto
Luoston Hovi’s traditional wooden hall transports its audience into a true Lappish ambience. Luoston Hovi is located right in the middle of central Luosto.

Porttikoski stage, Sodankylä
The Porttikoski stage is a historical performance venue, built in the 1960s by the Aska country club. The stage’s unique octagonal shape and wooden construction has given the outdoor venue a good acoustic. The nearby cliffs and other landscapes of Porttikoski are a local tourist attraction.

Pyhä-Luosto Visitor Centre Naava, Pyhätunturi
In addition to evening’s program, the Naava Centre is an opportunity to view an exhibit telling about the Pyhä-Luosto National Park’s nature, geology, and cultural history.

Restaurant Punakettu, Luosto
Punakettu is in Luosto’s new business center. A lovely milieu is brought about by a beautiful fireplace and large terrace, fantastic food and an interior decorated in the colors of the Lappish autumn.

Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory, Sodankylä
Sodankylä geophysical observatory is an independent research organisation part of Oulu university, which has performed continuous long-term measurements for over 110 years. The observatory concentrates on international research on space, geophysics and atmosphere. One of the targets is auroral research. The concert will take place in Tähtelä, a beautiful log-house, also housing the meteorological institute.

Sodankylä Municipal Hall, Sodankylä
Before you enter the Municipal Hall, which serves as an excellent concert hall, you can check out a miniature which shows what Sodankylä looked like before the Lapland War.

A one-of-a-kind natural auditorium in the Pyhä-Luosto National Park. Possibly the only stage in the world where you can pick blueberries from your seat!
